Hitachi Scenaria SE 64/128 CT

The Scenaria SE 64/128 CT is available as a 64 or 128 slice model, with available on site upgrade from 64 to 128-slice capabilities. Scenaria SE provides enhanced workflow speed and ease of use to meet the needs of busy CT facilities. Greater patient access and comfort are achieved by combining a wider 75cm aperture, wide 48cm tabletop, 88cm thin gantry and a unique standard lateral shift table that accommodates bariatric patients up to 550 lbs. Scenaria CT offers rapid workflow and excellent 3D visualization capabilities with available TeraRecon iNtuition 3D solutions.

Intelli IP and Intelli IP Advanced – Iterative Reconstruction
Intelli IP and Intelli IP Advanced are Hitachi’s latest proprietary processing engines that makes use of adaptive iterative reconstruction processes in both projection and image space. Their use will reduce pixel noise at a given level of mAs as compared to filtered backprojection without Intelli IP/ Intelli IP Advanced.


Intelli EC Plus
Hitachi’s proprietary 3D mA modulation technology, Intelli EC, automatically modulates mA to lower individual patient dose levels depending on patient anatomy and size and considering the level of iterative reconstruction selected. Intelli EC Plus can be set to provide real-time control of mA, to achieve a constant Noise Standard-Deviation in the resulting images.

Reduced kV
Four settings support lower kV and dose based on individual patient size. Lower KV provides lower dose for small and pediatric patients.

Multi-Bowtie Filters
Multi-Bowtie filter size selection, based on anatomy to be imaged, reduces radiation dose in areas outside the filter’s field of view. When used together with the auto lateral shift table, off-center anatomy can be brought to iso-center and the smallest bow-tie filter utilized.

Reduced Dose for Cardiac CTA
ECG Dose Modulation
Reduces mA by up to 80% during the cardiac phases of a retrospectively gated exam that are not intended for image reconstruction – reducing radiation dose.

Axial Snap-Shot Imaging
Pulses the X-ray “on” only during a phase of the cardiac cycle using prospectively gated step-and-shoot cardiac scanning – reducing radiation dose.

Dose Reporting and Awareness
Scenaria SE provides both DICOM Dose Structured Report and a Simple Dose Report to satisfy the full range of your IT and physician reading dose reporting needs. And, Scenaria SE includes Dose Check, compliant with NEMA XR-25, to monitor for exam doses that may exceed notice or alert levels.


SCENARIA SE's rapid 0.35 sec. minimum scan speed that is useful for Cardiac and other applications, together with Scenaria’s faster anatomic coverage, provides excellent results for both routine and advanced Cardiac applications.

Neurological Capabilities That Matter
Scenaria CT provides clear Neurological soft tissue definition and also expands the clinical role of CT Angiography of the Neck and Brain. Routine utilization of CTA for the evaluation of carotid and vertebral arteries are now the norm. The Scenaria CT with improved thin slice reconstruction and advanced rendering methods has improved the accuracy of stenosis detection in both neck and intracranial vasculature. Cerebral aneurysms and other vascular diseases can be readily identified with Scenaria.

CARDIAC Capabilities That Matter
Scenaria expands the clinical role of CT in cardiac imaging by offering effective Coronary CT Angiography (CTA) and Calcium Scoring capabilities. 64 and 128 slice CT have been shown to provide valuable contributions with a high negative predictive value for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Scenaria combines advanced scanning and dose reduction technologies with ease of use features to resolve smaller anatomic details and enable imaging of the entire coronary arterial tree.

Thoracic/Body Capabilities That Matter
Scenaria has dramatically reduced exam acquisition times with resultant improvements in patient compliance and image quality. The scanner’s utilization of 0.35 second 360° rotation time for routine body examination enables the acquisition of multiple phases of contrast enhancement which is of paramount importance in imaging soft tissue organs. The higher Z-axis resolution permits excellent multi-planar image reconstruction which plays a critical role in diagnosis of a variety of congenital, neoplastic, inflammatory and traumatic lesions of the Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis.

Musculoskeletal Capabilities That Matter
Scenaria’s rapid acquisition, anatomic coverage speed and superior image resolution enables fast diagnostic work up and institution of therapy in the setting of musculoskeletal trauma. Scanning with thin slice reconstruction combined with 3-D reformations provides detailed assessment of the musculoskeletal system. And, Scenaria employs advanced processing to minimize objectionable artifacts cause by metal implants.
